The new hydrogen-powered Hyundai FE Fuel Cell will drive 800 km of track at one filling station, the company's representatives in Geneva said about such data. Let's take a closer look at the new concept and its characteristics.

The Geneva Motor Show brought a lot of different cars, concepts and just new products. One of these novelties can be considered the concept of hydrogen Hyundai FE Fuel Cell. Previously, the company has already presented the Hyundai ix35 with a hydrogen engine under the hood; it was no different from the gasoline version. As for the FE Fuel Cell, the design is specifically made to highlight the powertrain under the hood of the crossover.

Following on from styling, Hyundai's new FE Fuel Cell hydrogen concept has also developed its own platform. The designation FE was taken for a reason, it stands for Future Eco. According to representatives of Hyundai, the new concept can travel up to 800 km at one gas station, which is 200 kilometers more than the previously presented serial Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell. In the states, this model is better known as the Hyundai Tucson, thanks to the change in the power plant, it is 20% lighter, and also has a 10% increase in efficiency compared to the hydrogen-powered Hyundai ix35. The specific power of fuel cells has increased by 30%, due to which electricity is generated during the chemical reaction between oxygen and hydrogen. Such changes made it possible to install portable batteries on the hydrogen crossover, they are now charged while driving. Unfortunately, the company has not yet provided the characteristics of the new power plant.

An interesting move by Hyundai was the niche provided for attaching and charging the IONIQ Scooter Concept electric scooter. This scooter model was unveiled in January at the 2017 CES in Las Vegas. Such a scooter can be used for short trips, in particular around the city. The new car based on the Hyundai FE Fuel Cell concept will be presented in 2018 as a production car.
