Chevrolet Silverado is a full-size pickup truck manufactured by Chevrolet from 1998 to the present day.... In December 2017, in Texas, the company management showed a new fourth generation of the model, the full-scale debut of which took place a month later as part of the annual Detroit Auto Show.

In comparison with the previous generation, the car lost its former conservatism, got a more modern and high-quality exterior, as well as a new "trolley" and modernized power plants. All this will allow the new product to compete on equal terms with its eternal opponents in the face of the latest generation Ford F-150 and Dodge Ram 1500.

The appearance of the Chevrolet Silverado

The new Chevrolet Silverado has a modern, aggressive and imposing appearance. The "muzzle" of the pickup truck is represented by a branded two-story optics, a huge false radiator grille with an impressive size logo in the center, as well as a massive front bumper with a chrome insert and built-in foglights.

The interior of the Silverado 2019 is made in the corporate American style: an impressive front dashboard, a large number of chopped surfaces and an abundance of all kinds of switches.

Directly in front of the driver is a large multifunctional steering wheel and a highly informative instrument panel, represented by an on-board computer LCD monitor and a pair of large analog dials.

In the central part of the front dashboard, there is a multimedia center with a large touch screen, a laconic air conditioner control unit and a whole scattering of auxiliary buttons and switches responsible for the secondary functions of the car.

The quality of finishing materials is at a very high level - soft plastics, high quality fabric, natural and eco-leather, aluminum and wood-like inserts.

In the SingleCab version, there are two comfortable seats in the cabin with well-pronounced lateral support, a lot of adjustments and a heating system.

There is a wide transmission tunnel between the seats, where the manufacturer has placed a pair of cup holders and a wide armrest with a built-in box for storing small items.

In the SuperCab version, there is a "Spartan" bench behind the front seats, on which only children can sit more or less freely. The most spacious version is the SuperCrew, equipped with a double cab, which can easily accommodate up to five adult riders.

The choice of buyers is offered two options for the cargo compartment, the volume of which can reach an impressive 1784 liters (one of the best indicators in this class). For obvious reasons, there is no need to talk about the classic trunk volume.

At the heart of the 4th generation Chevrolet Silverado is the fresh T1XX bogie, represented by a ladder-type frame, as well as a front independent suspension with two levers and a rear continuous axle with springs.

Special attention should be paid to the choice of versions with both rear and plug-in all-wheel drive, which gives the car a good off-road cross-country ability.

The line of power units available for the updated Silverado is represented by two gasoline engines and one diesel engine:

At the same time, the manufacturer emphasizes that during the modernization, the motors became an order of magnitude more economical.

The pickup is standardly equipped with an electric power steering and disc brakes on both axles (ventilated on the front), which provide a confident deceleration of a 2-ton car (compared to the previous generation, the car dropped over 200 kg).

Security systems of the new Chevrolet Silverado

According to the manufacturer's official statements, the Chevrolet Silverado is based on a ladder frame, which consists of more than 80% high-strength steel grades, which has a positive impact not only on the car's towing capabilities, but also on the overall level of safety.
