In 1925, Dat Jidosha Seizo Co. was born as a result of the merger of the two enterprises Kwaishinsha Co and Jitsuo Jidosha Co, which was renamed Nissan in 1934.

Since then, Nissan has slowly gained popularity first among the Japanese consumer, and subsequently on the world stage. Today, the carmaker Nissan Motor Co is one of the three largest automakers in its homeland and the ten largest in the world. In addition to the automotive industry, the company is engaged in the production of auto parts, sports boats and even communication satellites.

What are the rarest cars produced under the Nissan brand?

Nissan Leopard J. Ferie

Many fans of the brand may be familiar with the Leopard model, the first, second and third generations of which were quite popular at the time. But the third generation, which received the J. Ferie prefix, is practically unknown in our area.

This car was produced in the period 1992-1996. and was available exclusively as a sedan and only with rear-wheel drive. A total of 7.3 thousand copies of the model were produced, which were intended exclusively for the domestic market in Japan.

For a short time, the car was delivered to the North American market - however, there it was presented under the Infiniti brand.

Nissan figaro

Nissan Figaro is a small and little-known little car sporting a stylish retro design inspired by the Datsun Fairlady of the 60s of the last century.

The model was produced for only one year, during which 20 thousand copies rolled off the assembly line. The car was based on a Nissan Micra bogie and was equipped with the only available 4-cylinder gasoline engine, generating 76 "horses", a pair of which was a 3-speed manual transmission.

Although the car was sold exclusively in the domestic market, pre-owned versions were quite popular in the UK and Ireland.

Nissan crew

Production of the Nissan Crew started in 1993, and in the first few years the car was sold exclusively for use in driving schools, taxi services and the police. The car went on free sale only in 1996, and then only in Japan.

The sedan was set in motion by means of a 2-liter 130-horsepower gasoline power unit or a 2.8-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 94-100 hp. Later, a version that runs on liquefied gas also appeared. Serial production of the car was discontinued in 2009, that is, 16 years after the start of production.

Nissan pao

The Nissan Pao is a small runabout, technically very similar to the Nissan Micra. The car was equipped with a 4-cylinder 1-liter petrol engine producing 52 hp. and boasted quite a stylish appearance, vaguely reminiscent of that of the iconic Mini and Fiat 500.

The Pao model was produced between 1989-1991. and was intended exclusively for the Japanese market, where for some time it enjoyed good popularity, which was facilitated by the roominess and economy, not bad by the standards of the class.

Nissan junior

Despite the fact that pickup trucks have never been very popular among the Japanese, the Nissan Junior model can be considered an exception, although it did not become a bestseller.

This car lasted 26 years on the assembly line, during which Japan and several other Asian countries were its main sales markets.

During its existence, the model managed to change 3 generations, which are known to the world community under the names Zamyad Z24 and Nissan / Prince Miller.

Nissan kix

Nissan Kix is a compact SUV produced by the automaker between 2008 and 2012. The car appeared as a result of OEM cooperation with Mitsubishi and is essentially the twin brother of the Pajero Mini model.

In the Japanese domestic market, the SUV was offered in two equipment options, which differed from each other in the level of pre-installed equipment. Regardless of the configuration, the Nissan Kix was equipped with a 660cc 4-cylinder petrol engine generating 64 hp. and 88 Nm of torque.

The main weapon of the car on the off-road was 195-mm ground clearance, excellent body geometry and the proprietary EasySelect 4WD all-wheel drive system.

Nissan NP200

Back in 1999, Nissan secured the strategic support of the French brand Renault, as a result of which the Renault-Nissan alliance was formed, which can rightfully be considered one of the most successful alliances in the history of the automotive industry.

One of the results of cooperation between the companies is the Nissan NP200 pickup, which is a deeply modernized version of the Logan pickup.

The car has been produced since 2008 and is intended mainly for sale in the countries of South Africa.

Under its hood can be located a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, represented by 8 (87 hp) and 16-valve versions (105 hp), as well as a 1.5-liter 86-horsepower diesel engine, a couple which is uncontested 5-speed "mechanics".

A distinctive feature of the car can be considered excellent maintainability and load capacity of 800 kg.

Nissan rasheen

Most of you know the Nissan X-Trail crossover, but few people know that the Rasheen model was its ideological inspiration. This car was produced by Nissan between 1994-2000. and was quite popular among the Japanese.

It is based on the Nissan Sunny trolley, which is why it is more correct to call it not a crossover, but an all-terrain wagon.

At first, the car was produced exclusively with a 1.5-liter 105-horsepower gasoline engine, a pair of which could be a manual or automatic transmission. In subsequent years, the line of power units was replenished with a 1.8-liter and 2-liter gasoline engine, reproducing 125 and 145 "horses", respectively.

The car boasted an outstanding appearance, roomy interior and ATTESA permanent all-wheel drive system.

Nissan Autech Zagato Stelvio

Towards the end of the 80s of the 20th century, Nissan decided to experiment and try to compete with the Maserati Biturbo and Porsche 928 sports cars, resulting in the Autech Zagato Stelvio model.

The car attracted attention with its unusual design, especially the front part of the body, where the designers placed some kind of fenders, which makes the car very similar to the Batmobile.

At the heart of the Nissan coupe is the "trolley" Nissan Leopard F31, also known as the Infiniti M30. A modified 3-liter turbo petrol engine was installed under the hood of the car, generating an impressive 280 hp at that time, and its partner was a 4-speed automatic transmission.

In total, it was planned to produce about 200 cars, however, due to low demand for the period 1989-1991. only 104 copies of the model were produced. One of the main reasons for the "failure" experts call the controversial design and high cost, which was three times the price of the Honda NSX.

Nissan Altra EV

In 1998, the Japanese introduced the Altra EV electric station wagon, which is one of the rarest cars ever produced under the Nissan brand. The car was equipped with lithium-ion batteries, innovative for those times, the power reserve of which was enough to overcome 190 km.

It is known that the model was produced in Japan and was intended exclusively for experimental test operation in California (USA). This means that cars were not available for sale in principle.

The production of the model continued in the period 1998-2002, during which only 200 copies were produced.

Conclusion

Nissan continues to rapidly develop and experiment, which means that soon we can witness the release of even rarer and more unusual cars.
