The history of Renault Megane begins in 1995, and the third generation was launched in 2008. And on the eve of the auto exhibition in Frankfurt, the Italians decided to break all the rules and presented the official photos of the new Renault Megane.
The first thing that catches the eye of the buyer is the GT elements with which the designers added a sporty look to the new Megane IV mix. This set looks great on the new model and gives the first impression that the car is fully charged in a sporty direction. But do not get ahead of yourself and dream that the first one caught your eye.
Up front, the designers have taken a few pieces from other new models, for example, the headlights were taken one-on-one from the Talisman, with integrated C-shaped LED daytime running lights. The photos below show that the Megane GT's LED headlights also resemble the headlights from the Kadjar model.

Inside, the designers of the Megane GT have also added a lot of sporting elements. The developers have installed a six-speed EDC gearbox with dual clutch transmission. In addition, there are gearshift knobs behind the steering wheel, as is the case with many sports cars, the digital control panel and gearshift levers near the steering wheel are completely stripped from the new Kadjar model, and the vertical information display is taken from the Renault Talisman model.
All in one, both inside and outside, Renault Megane has been changed in comparison with the previous generation. Before that, nothing official was known, but from the leaked information it became known that the developers used the CMF-CD platform in the new Renault Megane. This platform is used in Nissan X-Trail, Qashqai, Pulsar. Renault also used the platform for the Escape, Kadjar and Talisman. The modular chassis is ideal for the modern Megane IV family hatchback.
Little is known about the Renault Megane engine, but a 1.2-liter TCe turbocharged petrol engine with 130 hp is expected to be delivered. The option of supplying new items with a 1.6-liter TCe petrol engine and 150 hp is not excluded.
A turbocharged diesel dCi engine with a capacity of 110, 130 and 160 hp can be installed at the buyer's choice. Engine in 110 and 130 hp will be offered as standard with a manual six-speed transmission. As for the 160 hp dCi engine. and a volume of 1.6 liters, it will be equipped with two turbines. It will be equipped with an automatic gearbox of the EDC type.
We expect more information about the new Renault Megane IV in a few days after the car's premiere at the exhibition in Frankfurt.
