It's no secret that Chinese cars have begun to appear more and more in the automotive markets of the CIS countries. If earlier the opinion of buyers was not the best about Chinese cars, now it gradually began to change. Another nuance of modern Chinese brands is that each of the existing ones began to single out and separate premium sub-brands. For Geely, these are Lync & Co, Geometry, for Great Wall, these are Wey and Haval.

Chery decided not to stand aside and separated its premium brand. Initially, there were several variants of the name, but the company decided to stay on CheryExeed, adding only a small prefix to the previous name. On the one hand, this is a new brand, but on the other hand, it is recognizable from the first symbols. On the Russian market, the new CheryExeed TXL is presented in two configurations: Luxury and Flagship, but the disadvantage is that the engine is still one, turbocharged gasoline. The biggest highlight was the AWD system, as well as a 7-speed robot with two wet clutches.

Looking at the design of the new CheryExeed TXL crossover, you can recognize individual models of famous cars assembled in one body. Examples include the new Mazda CX-7, Hyundai Santa Fe and Land Rover. All this is not casual, as the Chinese manufacturer simply hired engineers and designers of famous automotive brands in the world.

As already mentioned, in the Russian market, and in the neighboring countries, two complete sets will be presented in total. Between themselves, these options practically do not differ, only the design solution of individual elements or additional security and comfort systems. Otherwise, everything is the same, right down to the technical characteristics and the presence of all-wheel drive.

Exterior of the new crossover

The emergence of new cars or brands always attracts attention, regardless of the quality and country of production. The first Chinese cars resembled the existing European models to many, while the build quality was below the plinth. Constant problems with the technical part, lack of spare parts and not the most modern design. The main jamb was considered to be the wheel arches, or rather the ratio of their size to the size of standard rims.

Over time, many of the above problems of Chinese cars have become a thing of the past, and many companies began to single out their premium brands, which immediately became popular in some countries. Automobile manufacturer Chery is well known for its Tiggo series crossovers, but the first options were like a "tin can" with a bunch of plastic inside. Now everything has changed. One of such examples is the new brand CheryExeed, with the TXL crossover, the first in the CIS countries.

At first glance at the new CheryExeed TXL, it's hard to say which of the existing crossovers it looks like the most. If you look closely and remember, then the features of Land Rover in the front, Hyundai Santa Fe on the side and Mazda CX-7 of the latest generation on the stern of the crossover are very well visible. Indeed, the Chinese auto industry has not abandoned the idea of ​​copying individual parts of cars from already existing popular models.

The front of the new CheryExeed TXL will surprise you with an open radiator grille stretched from the hood to the very bottom of the front end, but with a small horizontal insert in the center. To improve the design, the radiator grille has been diluted with horizontal chrome stripes, as well as a mesh insert in the background. The presence of sensors and sensors at the bottom of the grille indicates the presence of active safety and comfort systems on board the crossover. Indeed, all electronics are from Bosch.

The designers decided to decorate the very top of the grille with the inscription CheryExeed. Until now, many people confuse how the brand name is spelled correctly, with or without a space. According to company representatives and in the price list on the official website, the name of the crossover is indicated without a space.

Optics played an important role in the design of the CheryExeed TXL front end. In the basic configuration, the front optics will be based on halogen, but in the top it will be fully LED, with divided sectors and yellow direction indicators. The very bottom of the optics was highlighted with an LED line, it also serves as daytime running lights. The designers did not stop there, and connect the optics with the same LED line, passing it under the inscription on the radiator grill.

The severity and style of the CheryExeed TXL crossover is given by a pair of large open air ducts on the sides of the bumper, with a pair of large LED fog lights. The design is complemented by a strict crossover hood, with a raised center section and sharp side lines. On the plus side of the hood, it is worth noting its considerable weight, well-thought-out mount and gas stop, which fully supports the weight of the hood.

From the side, the new CheryExeed TXL looks more like a Hyundai Santa Fe. All this is due to the curved lines on the side, the tapered third glass and the embossing at the bottom of the doors. The designers tried their best to minimize the amount of chrome parts. As for the ratio of wheel arches and rims, the proportion is more than appropriate. The crossover is based on 18 ″ alloy wheels in the Luxury trim level, while 19 ″ wheels were used for the Flagship.

Body color played an important role in the design of the CherryExeed TXL crossover. The buyer was offered 5 options:

Other options or a two-tone body color for the new CheryExeed TXL have not yet been provided. The last detail on the side of the new crossover is the rear-view mirrors. Until recently, many manufacturers moved mirrors to the door part, but thereby spoiled the overall design of the car.

At CheryExeed, the designers decided to leave them in the corner of the front windows, thereby following the classic arrangement of the mirrors. The functional list of mirrors is at a height, it includes LED turn signal repeaters, an electric adjustment drive, automatic folding, a logo projection on the road surface and memory for several modes.

If from the side CheryExceed looks like a Hyundai Santa Fe, then from the back it looks a bit like a Mazda. Like the front, the rear feet of the crossover are all LED, and for a better design, they were connected with an LED line, stretching it across the entire width of the trunk lid, and a small chrome line was added at the bottom. The very top of the CheryExeed trunk lid was decorated with a sports spoiler paired with an LED stop signal.

The trunk lid itself turned out to be massive, like the hood and without unnecessary steps, which is very convenient when loading oversized cargo. On the plus side, there can be a lid closer and a contactless opening system (installed as standard in both configurations). The rear part of CheryExeed ends with a large bumper, with a pair of horizontal foglights and a recess for license plates. At the very bottom is a diffuser with a pair of non-booted exhaust tips, which means a powerful engine under the hood.

Finally, it is worth considering the CheryExeed TXL roof. In the basic configuration, there can be two options, solid or with a panoramic sunroof. The top-of-the-line TXL Flagship received a panoramic roof with a sliding front. Additionally, a pair of roof rails and a small antenna in the form of a shark fin are installed on the roof.

If we talk in general about the external design of CheryExeed TXL, then the new crossover turned out to be stylish and modern, despite the fact that certain elements are recognizable from previously known models. The European style of the car is not easy to see, because engineers from Land Rover, Jaguar and other companies worked on the design, which Chery lured to its side by offering more favorable terms.

The interior of the new crossover

Following the exterior, the interior of CheryExeed TXL received a good design. For the Chinese crossover, high-quality materials, a minimum of pathos and modern technologies were used. Despite the large interior space, it is designed for 5 seats according to the 2 + 3 formula. The front panel also turned out to be modern and without unnecessary details.

In the center is a 10.1 ″ display of the multimedia system, made in the form of a tablet. Although for some unknown reason, the air ducts under the display turned out to be of different shapes, one rectangular, the other more triangular. If you believe the words of the company representatives, the modified Android Auto system served as the basis for multimedia, but many note that it is a little complicated and incomprehensible in the settings. A huge plus is that initially the multimedia is in Russian, English and Chinese. It is possible that other languages ​​will appear over time.

Below, under the CheryExeed multimedia display, there is a climate control panel with multifunctional washers and a full list of control buttons. There are also buttons for controlling the heating and cooling of the front seats, while the heating is activated much faster, which is very pleasant in the cold season. To all this, the designers have added LED lighting around the perimeter of the crossover, which can work (change shades) to the beat of the music, climate control, or at the choice of the driver.

The central tunnel between the front seats will surprise you in its own way. As for a Chinese car, he received a very good control set. At the very beginning, in a small recess there is a pair of USB ports for recharging, a 12V outlet and wireless charging. Further down the tunnel, a pair of cupholders with a heating and cooling function is installed. Slightly lower placed a point gear lever with a parking button at the end. The button for activating the sport mode, the multimedia control washer, the button for the electromechanical handbrake, opening the trunk and the fuel filler flap are located even lower.

Not without additional logic, in the case of setting CheryExeed TXL to the parking mode, the handbrake is triggered automatically. To remove the car from the handbrake, you need to turn on the Drive (D) mode and press the handbrake button, only then the car will start moving. This applies to the case when the driver is not wearing a seatbelt, but if the driver is seatbelt, the system will automatically deactivate the handbrake. The whole set is completed by a massive armrest with a spacious compartment inside and a pair of USB connectors on the back.

The interior of CheryExeed TXL itself turned out to be very comfortable and luxurious, as for a Chinese car. The driver's seat received an electric adjustment in 6 directions, including adjustment of the lumbar support and memory for three modes. As for the front passenger seat, here the adjustment can be mechanical in 4 directions or electric in 6 directions (depending on the configuration).

The second row of CheryExeed TXL seats is designed for 3 passengers. If necessary, the seats can be folded in a 40/20/40 ratio, thereby increasing the free space in the trunk. CheryExeed high-quality interior trim was pleasant and unexpected. As befits a premium brand, the designers used high-quality leather, with stitching to match the body color or the buyer's choice.

As already mentioned, the interior of the new crossover turned out to be spacious, especially for second-row passengers. The first row seats have a comfortable fit, a high backrest and adjustable head restraints. It is not yet known what interior colors CheryExeed TXL will offer to the buyer, in addition to the classic black version.

The driver's seat of CheryExeed TXL is much more interesting. Regardless of the configuration, the instrument panel will be completely digital, based on a 10.25 ″ display. Like multimedia, the dashboard is fully translated into Russian. Depending on the wishes of the driver, the already programmed information modes can be displayed on the dashboard, or set up at will.

The CheryExeed TXL steering wheel will surprise you in its own way. Firstly, Nappa leather was used for the upholstery, and secondly, the design of the steering wheel is more sporty than the classic in wood. The lower part was specially flattened, adding an expressive line. As standard, the functionality of the steering wheel includes buttons on the side spokes, adjustments for height and reach, as well as paddle shifters.

Well, the interior of CheryExeed TXL turned out to be no worse than European competitors. Additionally, the buyer is offered to add plastic inserts with imitation of wood or polished aluminum. On the downside, there will probably be a black glossy insert on the central tunnel, which is quickly covered with fingerprints and minor scratches, as well as the special talkativeness of the crossover.

Almost every movement or adjustment of CheryExeed TXL is accompanied by sound effect, optics blinking or other effects. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable or reprogram such talkativeness, so you just have to put up with it and get used to it.

Probably one thing that will remain unchanged in Chinese cars is the variety of technical characteristics. It is not known for certain why it so happened that the buyer cannot choose the units or there may be only a couple of them. Under the hood, the new CheryExeed TXL offers only one 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.

Suspension of the CheryExeed TXL crossover is not particularly surprising. An independent McPherson suspension is installed at the front, an independent multi-link at the rear. The braking system is middle class, ventilated disc brakes in the front, and conventional non-ventilated disc brakes in the rear.

The galvanized body will be a big plus, since the early Chery models succumbed to corrosion after a couple of years, or even less.

Having seen the premium crossover CheryExeed TXL for the first time, it's hard to say that this is one of Chery's models that usually adhered to minimalism. Secondly, the fact that the car is made with high quality, modern technologies and materials were used. Starting with the basic configuration of the CheryExeed TXL, the crossover has acquired a digital instrument panel, a multimedia system and other technologies that are not often found even in top European models.

The main disadvantage is, of course, the variety of units, well, very few people so far decide to buy a turbocharged engine with a robotic transmission and two wet clutches. Indeed, first of all, the buyer of CheryExeed TXL will look at the reliability of components and available spare parts in case of repair.
